All about Melanie
Puppeteer, Puppet Builder, Tour Photographer, Dishwasher...
Melanie has been with the company since 2005 when she had the good luck and brilliant fortune to team up with Heidi and the Barefoot Puppets crew as a part-time office worker while attending graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University. After completing her program of study, she moved to Atlanta in a misguided attempt to pursue a career in literary publishing.
Melanie's talents as a designer/builder and puppeteer were recognized early on, and she has worked on several shows. Melanie helped with the scenery in the rebuild of African Trickster Tales in 2005 and played an important part in building and performing Beneath the Baobab Tree in 2006. In the summer of 2008, she returned to Richmond and toured full-time with an extended run of African Trickster Tales. She looks forward to being part of the development of new shows in 2009.
